The best thing about a small town or village is the food that is served there. When you are a small town word travels fast and if your food or service is not up to standards, you simply do not last. The following restaurants have been in business quite a while, most for decades. You do not last that long unless you serve quality products.
The following list 6 restaurants that are open all year long. Everyone is welcome anytime, however there is a rule on bus tours.
WE REGET TO SAY THAT THERE WILL BE NO TOUR BUS GROUP RESERVATIONS AT ANY COLON RESTAURANT DURING THE 4TH OF JULY WEEK AND ABBOTT'S MAGIC GET-TOGETHER WEEK (usually early August, aka Magic Week).
Individuals and families of course are welcome anytime but during those afore mentioned two weeks in the summer, they simply do not have the space for bus groups at the restaurants. They understand that this policy might cost them some bus tour traffic but Colon would rather lose the business than have a guest have a less than satisfactory experience while visiting the Magic Capital. Bus Tours can still come to Colon during those weeks, their guests simply will have to be on their own individually as far as eating.
But fear not, to the best of our knowledge no one has ever starved in Colon during the 4th of July week or Abbott's Get Together Magic Week. In addition to the restaurants there are all sorts of food on the streets of Colon (open grill barbecues, pig roasts, fundraising bake sales, sidewalk specials etc.) so there will not be an issue of anyone not finding a place to eat during the two major summer events at the Magic Capital.
