Keith Stickley has followed in the footsteps of many magicians who have come to Colon to visit only to eventually make the Magic Capital their home. Keith first visited Abbott's as a youngster with his father and has told us the experience changed his life. Now he and his family run one of the top attractions in the area. Keith is also Abbott's go to guy for magic that is a little different than your average card trick. Abbott's has collaborated with Keith for several bestselling books on Halloween Magic, Spook Show Magic, and Side Show Magic.
That being said, let's get back to the Fall tours, the Stickley Family Farms believe Fall should feel like family and that's exactly how they run things. Keith is the guy behind the corn maze (literally he plants it), welcomes guests in his muddy boots with a big smile, and keeps the farm operations humming. Wendy, his better half, runs the food side of things and hand-dips every single one of their world-famous caramel apples in homemade, from-scratch caramel. (Yes, they're as good as you've heard, some years Wendy brings her sweets to the Abbott Get Together as well and we are experts when it comes to sweets)
Uncle John is the mastermind behind the Tunnel of Terror, the area's best haunted house, and their extended family pitches in all over the farm - from the ticket booth to the general store - because that's just how they do things. Even their daughter "Lil" has claimed her title as unofficial farm ambassador, often greeting guests in the backyard, offering surprise corn maze tours, and proudly pointing out her favorite spots on the Mini Michigan Central Railroad.
There are over ten attractions at the farm for all ages. A Fall tour of the Magic Capital would not be complete without a visit to Stickley Farms. But what is it that you want to see there is the real question, with so much to choose from.
Hop aboard a fully restored 1955 Ford 640 tractor-pulled hay wagon for a 15-minute ride packed with laughs, thrills, and fall farm magic - a ride that winds right through parts of their iconic Stickley Family Farms Corn Maze and straight into the spooky streets of BONETOWN!
For the more daring, get ready for the ride of a lifetime on their towering 30-foot tall, 100-foot long Fun Slide - a must-do attraction at Stickley Family Farms! This eye-catching slide delivers thrills for kids, teens, parents, and yes - even grandparents (their oldest rider so far was 85 years young!).
Their giant 5-acre Corn Maze is a true Fall favorite at Stickley Family Farms! Each year, they carve the maze into a brand new, exciting design - something you only can see from the top of their Giant Slide!
How about a fully restored vintage King Rocket Ride, a mid-century marvel that lets kids soar through the air in classic rocket-style cars while feeling the wind in their hair.
Of course, everyone's favorite attraction in the fall is the haunted house and Stickley Family Farms has one of the best I've ever seen. Step into the Tunnel of Terror, where shadows twist, walls close in, and grotesque figures lurch from the darkness. Every corner is alive with old-school jump scares, and chilling surprises.
There are many more attractions such as a general store, a pumpkin patch, self-propelled go carts ... so we encourage you to scan the QR code and check it out for yourself. On my last visit I saw something Keith is planning for this upcoming season and let's just say its "out of this world".
Bus tours are most welcome and they have the space to park a hundred buses so there is no issue with space. The only issue is what to see first.
Now that you have had a taste of some of the things you can do at the Magic Capital in Fall, when can we expect to hear from you?
