     MAGIC CAPITAL MUSEUM

The Colon Museum opened on July 4th, 1976, as part of the Bi-Centennial celebration in the Magic Capital. It is maintained by the Colon Historical Society.

The society purchased the residence next door to the original museum and in 1992 moved the displays into the Farrand-Hoekzema annex. In 2002, the society added a 24' x 70' addition to the church building to house the Express print shop and other displays.

Visitors to the museum are treated to a variety of magical history artifacts. One of the most popular of these is the poster displays of most of the magicians and many of the behind the scenes people that have made the Magic Get Together what it is today. Visitors can do a quick visual search or research the extensive articles that have been compiled in the displays.

Of course, the museum is not just magic but a look back into the history of Southwestern Michigan including the lifestyles, the military, the Native Americans in the area, and the architecture that makes up Colons past. A truly fascinating look at Colons past is waiting for you at the Colon Historical Museum. The museum is open during the Get Together daily from 3pm-5pm and is located at 219 N Blackstone Ave.
